#OscarsStillWhite? 6 Black Actors Pick Up Nominations

Following the announcement of the Oscar nominees today, January 24, 2017, six black actors were nominated for the prestigious awards.

The nominees include Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris for their roles in Moonlight, Viola Davis and Denzel Washington for Fences, Octavia Spencer for Hidden Figures.

Hopes are high for the nominees and there’s optimism that even more diversity will be incorporated in 2018.
